Solar Covers for In-Ground Swimming Pools

It is essential to keep your swimming pool covered when not in use, especially if your swimming pool is heated as you will be reducing the amount of heat loss and therefore reducing your pool heating costs. Over 90% of your swimming pool's heat is lost through the water surface, and the cost of a Plastica Solar Cover can be recovered in as little as 6 months due to the reduced cost of heating your pool. A Solar Cover will also act as your swimming pool's own heat source and could increase you pool water temperature by as much as 15 degrees during periods of prolonged sunshine, it will also reduce the amount of swimming pool chemicals being used.

The Sol + Guard 500 Solar Cover is a top of the range 500 microns thick cover with an innovative design. Scroll down for more information.

The BLUE 400 Solar Cover is 400 micron in density and has a weight of 0.37kg per square metre.

The APOLLO 400 Solar Cover is 400 micron in density and has a weight of 0.37kg per square metre, with a Blue top and Silver underside for extra heat retention.

The MIDAS 500 Solar Cover is 500 micron in density and has a weight of 0.48kg per square metre, with a Blue top with a Gold underside for extra heat retention.

Points common to all solar covers:
Covers are invoiced to the nearest square metre with costs rounded up to the nearest square metre.
Covers are made oversized and non-hemmed covers are to be trimmed on site. Covers over 12m should be fitted with a leading edge.

Please note that welding on solar covers can lead to a slight waving and that cover guarantee is void if pool temperature exceeds 29 degrees C, or SPATA standards for chemical and TDS level are not met.

Deluxe Cover/Reel Protector Cover

Your Solar Cover is an expensive investment and needs care to extend the life of the pool cover as long as possible. As with all plastic products the biggest enemy is ultra violet light (Day light) which over time makes the solar cover brittle. It therefore follows that you can greatly extend the life of your pool cover if you protect it as much as possible from the UV light. These pool covers are the perfect solution for both summer & winter use.

The Sol+Guard 500 micron solar cover has a unique two ply combination, a clear top surface and a translucent tinted underside. Tests carried out prove that the more translucent a bubble solar cover is, the greater the penetration of solar energy into the swimming pool water.
